We built our business on a single commitment: making homeownership accessible and affordable for everyone. In honor of our 20th anniversary, we donated to three charitable organizations that are making a meaningful impact in areas that are important to us: our industry and our Maryland community.
Mortgage Bankers Association’s Path to Diversity Scholarship Program: MBA’s scholarship program supports continuing education for existing industry professionals who come from diverse backgrounds. According to MBA, “a strong, responsible and sustainable real estate finance industry requires a workforce that is reflective of our society at large” – we wholeheartedly agree!
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake: This local affiliate of the global nonprofit has built or renovated over 750 homes in underserved communities of Maryland’s Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Howard counties. Habitat Chesapeake also launched HabiCorps, a workforce development program that provides low-income individuals nearly a year of hands-on instruction in carpentry and construction management.
Maryland Food Bank | Feeding America: The Maryland Food Bank has a network of thousands of community partners across the state to create pathways out of hunger and provide immediate assistance to those in need of food. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization has worked to ensure no one goes hungry with efforts such as drive-through food distribution, contactless “grab and go” meals for children in place of school lunches and services for seniors at home.
We hope you’ll take a moment to learn more about these organizations and consider joining us in supporting them. We also encourage you to connect with other local and industry organizations that fight for your values. Together, we can make the world a better and more equitable place to live.
